Mindful coffee moments embrace the slowing of time, self-compassion, the connection with our surroundings and others. We awaken the senses and focus on the unique quality of each experience.

For a deeper connection we can combine mindful coffee moments with breath work related to physical postures. Yoga and coffee are a wonderful pairing!
While preparing coffee we can stand tall with the feet rooted firmly into the floor, hip-width apart, toes facing forward. We can relax our shoulders and lengthen the neck.

When we are not pouring water or coffee, we can simply lift our shoulders up towards our ears and squeeze and hold them there for a couple of seconds.
We can enjoy our cup of coffee while sitting on our yoga mat in a cross-legged posture, we can enjoy the gentle stretch and feel more grounded. We can tune in to our breath, and bring awareness to the sensations, emotions, and thoughts of the present moment.

It’s like with coffee to go. Even when the coffee is full of flavour, there’s always something missing. A ceramic or glass vessel makes a world of difference, and a nice setting (with pleasant people) can’t be underestimated either. When it comes to drinking coffee from a paper cup, we can safely say that it’s like a picture mounted without a frame.
